3。5/4 StarsWell, I loved it。 Much like the first book in the series。 Perhaps not as much but still enough to claim love instead of like。 I knew Katedo was going to be a fascinating hero with his sad traumatic past and I was right。 God, my heart hurt for him and his experiences and how he felt those were his failures to carry upon his shoulders。 And how his grief and self blame and his fear was eroding his relationship with his son。 Man this one was hell on my emotions。 I loved that big strong ma 3。5/4 StarsWell, I loved it。 Much like the first book in the series。 Perhaps not as much but still enough to claim love instead of like。 I knew Katedo was going to be a fascinating hero with his sad traumatic past and I was right。 God, my heart hurt for him and his experiences and how he felt those were his failures to carry upon his shoulders。 And how his grief and self blame and his fear was eroding his relationship with his son。 Man this one was hell on my emotions。 I loved that big strong man and I love that he got his happy ending。As for the heroine Jessica。。 I was pleasantly surprised。 I liked that she was upfront with wanting the soulbond and wouldn't settle for less。 And I also understand her fears of not wanting to settle without it just as we come to understand Katedos fear of both sides as well。 Her backstory was not as sad at Katedos but close enough。 It was easy to want to hug the woman。 Both of them having been through the wringer of life and spat out。 I did love her personality and the lightness she brought into Katedos life with his son and mother。 She was a lovely heroine。 Perfect for Katedo。A big favorable part was how enjoyable his son and mother were to the story。 I loved their parts and it definitely gave this book a softer more sweet feel than the first one which felt all action and grit。 Totally looking forward to the next one。 。。。more

This was such a great read! It's based around two broken characters, resistant to losing more and with goals that are opposite。 This brings great emotional angst to the story but there's hope with the help of a very cute kid。 He added a great dimension to the story and I loved watching everything unfold。 This book can be read as a stand-alone but book one was just as awesome, so don't miss out ;) Now to be patient for the next book。。。 ;) This was such a great read! Beautiful heartfelt steamy addition to the series! This book is about Katedo and Jessica。 Katedo has suffered heavy losses when it comes to the mate department and feels he doesn’t deserve love or a mate。 Jessica was a divorcée who was cheated on back on earth and is one of the first women who have decided they want to be claimed and bonded by a Jal’zar, to find love, not just for political reasons。 VK Ludwig did an AMAZING job as always with all the feels and all the best 🔥🔥🔥 scenes。 She also kn Beautiful heartfelt steamy addition to the series! This book is about Katedo and Jessica。 Katedo has suffered heavy losses when it comes to the mate department and feels he doesn’t deserve love or a mate。 Jessica was a divorcée who was cheated on back on earth and is one of the first women who have decided they want to be claimed and bonded by a Jal’zar, to find love, not just for political reasons。 VK Ludwig did an AMAZING job as always with all the feels and all the best 🔥🔥🔥 scenes。 She also knocked it out of the park with Kam, Katedo’s son。 I’m not usually a big fan of kids in my romance/smutty books。 They’re either too much the focus, annoying and/or the author writes them like they’ve never been around real kids before。 I LOVED Kam! This series keeps getting better and better。 This is the second book in the Ash Planet Warriors series Katedo and Jessica’s story。 Katedo is a powerful Warlord, a single father, and he has suffered tragic loss。 Jessica has known loss as well, she’s eager to find a place to belong, and when she can’t find that on earth she jumps at the chance of going to Solgad。 A really great story filled with terrific characters, emotions, and intense heat。
Angeleena Rain,
First of all, I love this cover。 Often in sci-fi the picture depicted on the cover of the book doesn’t truly resemble the main character but this artist perfectly depicted the hero’s description in the book。 So grateful for artists/authors that go the extra mile to give a true depiction of the character。 Katedo is such a sweet, nuzzling, possessive, steamy hero。 I simply adore when authors include a juicy secret that you can really sink your teeth into, it makes for great discoveries。 This book First of all, I love this cover。 Often in sci-fi the picture depicted on the cover of the book doesn’t truly resemble the main character but this artist perfectly depicted the hero’s description in the book。 So grateful for artists/authors that go the extra mile to give a true depiction of the character。 Katedo is such a sweet, nuzzling, possessive, steamy hero。 I simply adore when authors include a juicy secret that you can really sink your teeth into, it makes for great discoveries。 This book enables you to spend time with the couple and truly enjoy their relationship before the wonderful happy ending。 Bonus: This book has lots of animals。 What I’m most looking forward to in future books within this series: I am so curious about the free raiders and how the author is going to solve this issue。 I can’t wait for Zerim’s story; he has a special place in my heart because he is Zavis’s son from “Chained”。 We need to infiltrate the tribes with a few earth women and I can’t wait to see how the author does this。 Would love for the author to create a chart showing the Wardens of the Empire and the warlords of Jal’zar in the next book, with Zerim linking them。 I’m also very curious about Warlord Haruto as well。 Fan girl squeal, this series is so fantastic! 。。。more

Wow! This book was even better than the first。 The hero is somewhat broken and fears loving again but the pull to Jessica is too much。 Their chemistry is fire and I loved his overprotectiveness of his son。 The world keeps building from the first and I want more!

I have to admit that I’m pretty judgy when it comes to characters that are “mature。” Most likely because I’m trying to hold on as hard as I can to my thirties。 However, Katedo might have me rethinking how I’ve always felt!Katedo and Jessica were two equal halves of the same damaged soul, that when put together made a beautiful perfectly imperfect one。 If Katedo made my heart swoon any more than he did, it would have exploded! Katedo knows what it's like to have loved and lost 。 。 。 and he'd rather have never loved at all。 When his arranged marriage is interrupted, it's frankly a relief。 Conversely, Jessica is so eager to find a sense of love and belonging that, when it doesn't seem forthcoming on Earth, she jumps at the chance to travel to Solgad and live among the close-knit Jal'zar people instead。 With such different perspectives, is there anything powerful enough to make the two see eye-to-eye once they're no long Katedo knows what it's like to have loved and lost 。 。 。 and he'd rather have never loved at all。 When his arranged marriage is interrupted, it's frankly a relief。 Conversely, Jessica is so eager to find a sense of love and belonging that, when it doesn't seem forthcoming on Earth, she jumps at the chance to travel to Solgad and live among the close-knit Jal'zar people instead。 With such different perspectives, is there anything powerful enough to make the two see eye-to-eye once they're no longer blinded by their passions? The first book of this series, STOLEN BY THE WARLORD, took place almost entirely out on the dangerous plains of Solgad and depicted a simpler way of life。 This time around, the tribe in question resides in Noja, their technologically advanced capital city。 Katedo was clearly a great and well-respected leader, but it was the depth of affections that he held toward his son that revealed his true nature。 I loved that Jessica was a self-sufficient scientist and that the important virology work she was doing continued to be addressed throughout the book rather than set aside once romance bloomed。 I was actually surprised that I found myself wishing that a bit more time was spent developing Katedo and Jessica's relationship in the beginning because I wanted to know more about what they saw in each other。 However, I recognize that the many stops and starts in their romance were fitting given Katedo's history。Side characters, both new and old, all had their moments to shine, which helped me to be fully invested in what happened to them over the course of the story。 With how the plot ends, I'm sure that the next book in the series will spotlight some returning characters as well。 I'm already looking forward to catching up with our two warlord couples and their families again。I received an advanced reader copy of CLAIMED BY THE WARLORD and am voluntarily leaving an honest review。 。。。more

He has suffered tragic losses and the pain of love lost has caused him to fear more loss, so he keeps himself tightly constrained against the possibility of love。 He is a single father to a very bouncy and energetic boy who pushes against the protective restraints his father has enforced, Katedo is obsessive about protecting against physical and emotional danger。 Kamenji is an awesome addition to this story and one who helps to propel the story and the main characters to grow。 Jessica is a virologist from Earth who also has suffered tragically and seeks out a soul deep connection, and a family。 She is ovulating when she arrives in Noja and Katedo reacts violently when he smells her sweet scent, possessive male on the edge of being out of control。The author spins a story that brings these two equally flawed characters together whose wants are equally valid, but completely incompatible, causing emotional angst as they navigate a relationship neither of them can resist。 The levels of emotion and the sexual tension are both intense。 This angst is balanced with the sweet relationship Jessica develops with Katedo’s young son Kamenji, and how their relationship pushes Katedo to rethink and expand his perspective。This is a story that delves into life lessons as the character develop and grow。 This is a beautiful and intelligent story, entertaining and engaging with such a fantastic ending。 I’m going to emphasize this is story has an emotional impact and will stay with you long after you finish the book。I received an ARC from the author and Hidden Gems, I am voluntarily leaving a review。 I am so looking forward to Book 3 of the series I’ve marked it’s release date on my calendar! 。。。more

Claimed by the Warlord is the second book in the Ash Planet Warriors series by VK Ludwig。 It is a standalone, but for the best reading experience should be read after Stolen by the Warlord。 Claimed is the story of Warlord Katedo whom we briefly met in book one when he had his intended human bride stolen from him。 While he was willing to marry, he never intended on completing the true bond since he had already lost a spouse and didn’t want to put himself in that painful position ever again。 Kated Claimed by the Warlord is the second book in the Ash Planet Warriors series by VK Ludwig。 It is a standalone, but for the best reading experience should be read after Stolen by the Warlord。 Claimed is the story of Warlord Katedo whom we briefly met in book one when he had his intended human bride stolen from him。 While he was willing to marry, he never intended on completing the true bond since he had already lost a spouse and didn’t want to put himself in that painful position ever again。 Katedo’s intentions go flying out the window when he meets Jessica, the new human doctor that comes to his village - especially when her hormone suppressant breaks during transit and there is no way mask her going into heat。 Katedo may be able to fight his body’s pull to Jessica, but his heart may not be so lucky。This was such a wonderful, heart wrenching story! I actually enjoyed it much more than the first。 The storyline was fantastic and the emotional rollercoaster ride experienced through Katedo and Jessica’s hopes and fears was compelling to read。 Katedo is a leader that bears the weight of the world on his shoulders from the loss of his previous wife as well as the responsibility of leading。 He is attracted to Jessica, but fears the vulnerability their bonding will do to both of them。 Jessica has her own baggage to deal with。 Consistently left behind her whole life, first by her family and then by her ex, she constantly deals with fear that she isn’t enough。 The chemistry between them is strong from the start and the smexy times are super hot。 LOVED this story and can’t wait to read Zerim’s book next!Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Trope: Fated mateAngst: 😰😰😰😰Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥🔥Triggers: none 。。。more
